Very sad, but I can't stand articles that don't attempt to explain what happened. Congenital birth defect, history of heart disease, etc. They just leave it open ended.

Yeah, there is obviously something else as she had run a full marathon the month before. She was obviously fit enough to do it. There had to be a condition that was triggered by the race. It's scary.

Sad. So many young people who are supposedly "fit" encounter this. Call me crazy but I think all this extreme running is not the healthiest of activities.

It isn't. Humans weren't made to run that far.

We're really ineffecient as a species when it comes to running.

I wouldn't call a half marathon "extreme"

if she had just run a 100 mile ultra, yeah thats one thing, but a half?

millions upon millions run halfs every weekend

she must have had some type of unknown heart defect
