Why don't people ever wear gloves for ceremonial first pitches?

I realize their is no batter so they don't need it to field the position but it seems it may help with balance.

It couldn't hurt, most of them are horrible

Because the ball isn't being thrown back to them.

As a person that played baseball until I couldn't any longer, throwing without a glove would throw me way off.

I can't think of one baseball-throwing memory without one. They all get a ton of other swag for the event anyway - MLB should throw a glove in, too.

It might've counterbalanced Carl Lewis.

I think I've seen it before, but I can't remember where.

Throwing back a visiting team home run at Wrigley.

I'd rather look like a goof ball throwing the first pitch without a glove than bring a glove to the ballpark as an adult and look like a loser who is trying to relive the past.

I didn't let anyone wear my glove when I played, if I was in the majors I certainly wouldn't let someone borrow it.
