Show your work.

According to Singapore news agency Mothership.sg the question was part of a Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad test paper, which is aimed at the best 40 per cent of students. In any case, Singapore is also always top, or nearly top, internationally for secondary maths also. So, I rephrase the question: are you smarter than a Singaporean 14-year-old?

she tells albert the month and benard the day.

the only day represented only once is the 19th.

since Benard now knows then albert also knows.

The use of the word respectively is key so it is more of a grammar test than a math test.

However, the use of the word "too" should have been "either" grammatically.

Bernard would have known right away if the date was the 19th because there would only be one choice.

nope. neither know the birthday at first. Bernard would immediately know since there is only one 18th option.

So Albert knows the month - one of only 4 months listed (May, June, July, August)

Bernard knows the day - one of 6 days listed (14-19)

That's all I got so far
