Good morning brethren and senoritas. I apologize for the tardiness of this week's edition. The weather is atrocious and I had get some work done in Belle Chasse.

Friday after work, I sprinted (slow jog for most) out of the office to head to the Quarter. My cab ride was brief and reeked of cigarettes, but the character of the driver will be hard to replace by the new Uber drivers. Before the driver got to me, I polished off some Evan Williams single barrel. I received the bottle in my Easter basket. It was pretty good. If if didn't have "Evan Williams" on the bottle, it could go for $50.

My first stop of the evening was at Amelie. I walked in and ordered a Rhubarb and rye. The ladies got Amelie's. The talk was small, since I had 8:00 reservations at Angeline.

After a few discussions with the chef about bread puddings, I ordered another for the walk to the restaurant. Angeline is a new restaurant, where Stella! used to be located. I believe it's only been open a couple of weeks.

The place was packed, and the decor had changed. I was not crazy about it, but the food and service more than made up for it.

The waitress was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. The bar was backed up, but that's nothing new with new places. As the drinks would come to the table, I'd order another round. Their old fashions were very good.

For dinner, I went with baked eggs and braised cheeks. The lady got gazpacho and crab linguini. The food was delicious. I had never had baked eggs before and I was very pleased. The cheeks were the best part of the meal. The combination with their grits made me drool. Thankfully, they had napkins.

There was too much gazpacho served. It was very refreshing and cool. The pasta was very fresh and paired well with the fresh crab.

For dessert, we had a piece of chocolate chess pie. I liked it, but preferred it without the ice cream.

I will definitely being going back to Angeline. The prices were decent, and the food was delicious.
After dinner, I walked to Lafitte's and caught a cab.

On Saturday, I awoke to run my errands and prepare for a day of drinking. I grabbed my go to Little Debbie and headed out. It provided a jump start to the morning.

At the lady's I grabbed this silly cider. Someone must have left it in her fridge following a party. It was nasty.

We then hit up the Fest. I stopped at Lafitte's and grabbed a Beam.

After a few slow jams, we headed to the Square to dabble in the concessions. I grabbed some shrimp from Antoine's, a hot sausage poor boy, a fried shrimp blt poor boy. The shrimp were overpriced. The two poor boys were delicious. The shrimp had an interesting sweet batter.

The guys at the sausage stand were very nice. I had to wait for them to finish cooking more sausage. We shot the shite for a few minutes discussing the boiling technique. I use it when I cook brats. The guys will be opening a brick and mortar shop in Gentilly soon. I wish them the best of luck. The sausage was delicious and didn't need the bread. (I prefer hot sausage patties on my poor boys.)

After the body took on the aforementioned beat down, I needed a little relief. Thankfully, Muriel's was open and they had a few spots at the bar. I ran into the bathroom and took care of business, before ordering a cocktail. I saw some fresh blackberries on the bar and requested the waitress to make me something with them and bourbon. She didn't hesitate to start putting something together. I don't know what he called it, but it was delicious.

After a round, we ran to the Mint. I was looking for the white beans and shrimp. Unfortunately, I got distracted by these red velvet fried cupcakes. They were pretty solid. They were prepared to order and very sweet.

After a few songs, we walked to Italian Barrel for more cocktails. I ordered an Italian Stallion. It was the only one with bourbon. I knew it would be awful, when the bartender kept checking the ingredients on the menu while he was making it. It was god awful.

From there, I returned to Lafitte's to listen to some music and take in the sights. I grabbed a cup of Beam and grabbed a table by the door.

After a couple more, the lady rejoined me. I was a true gentleman and walked to Amelie to grab some cocktails for the gals.

After my fourth double, I decided to walk to my friends on Royal to beat the rain. I ran into that Asian violinist. She was jamming.

After her performance, I went to grab a bite and watch some of the Masters. They had apps and cakes all over. I also go to try some Colorado bourbon. It was pretty good.

The rain stopped, so I went to get some fresh air next to the magnolias.

By the time it turned dark, it was time for me to return home. I was hungry and destroyed. We opted for Company Burger. You know when you bring a bag home this greasy, dinner will be good. I ate that shite and passed out in the clothes I was wearing.

On Sunday, I awoke in a bit of pain. I jumped in the shower and washed Satan out of me. I had to throw on my suit and head to mass. After mass, I grabbed a hotdog and went to a meeting.

On my way home from the meeting, I grabbed some nachos at Felipe's. Those damn things put a hurting on me. I ate them all, but it felt like a brick in my stomach for the rest of the day.

After noon, I started doing some work for today. I had to take it easy. Bourbon shits tend to put people at a disadvantage.

For dinner, I grabbed some froyo and fruit.

Stay fat, my friends.

My festin was limited this weekend but I did knock out my punchlist of new items to try at the fest.

Those cupcakes were a good idea but I didn't care for the cream cheese icing. The boudin stuffed fried chicken was my favorite.

Slipped. They had a center of frozen icing. When placed in the fryer, it became melted.

Several bartenders know me as arse. You'd get a double, but may cost more. Mine isn't a true double. It's about a 4-5 second pour into their souvenir cup with a splash of diet.

eta..someone played "Who Let the Dawgs out" on the jukebox. I thought someone from here was trolling.

The ones I had were not uniform. I had on like that, and the rest were in the center.

This is the baked egg:

This is the cheeks. They had grits underneath. The ball to the left was pork sausage.
