1. QB accuracy
2. Receiver separation
3. No injuries
4. Defensive tackle pressure on QB

Of course everything said is a good quality/bad quality scenario when you are playing your own team.

Rinse and repeat. Spring games are not huge indicators for who's stepping up, especially for offensive skill players.
Just don't get anyone hurt in this glorified scrimmage.

I can't wait for all the dumb threads that will appear after the spring game that will be from posters drawing absolute, definite conclusions about what they see and applying it to the future…because the Spring Game is ALWAYS an accurate predictor of what we will see in the fall.

No doubt this jewel was extremely funny in your own mind before you typed it. Next time, don't listen to that voice in your head.

Wasn't trying to be funny….was being dead serious. There will be a lot of threads about things that people see in the spring game and almost all of them will involve taking what was seen in the spring game and applying it to what will be seen in the fall. Many more times than not, this is flawed logic.

This.
It is not a game and anybody that thinks so is a fool.It is a tightly scripted and controlled scrimmage. The coaching staff go into it with a specific agenda for each player. The cold hard and unpleasant truth is that nothing that happens in this event (except for an injury) has much if any bearing on the future.
A player who has a dominating "game" but has sucked in practice won't win a guaranteed starting position any more than a player who was a beast in practice but has a bad day will be sent to the bench.
That being said, it is a lot of fun reading the predictable angst. If there are a lot of points scored, that means the defense will be terrible and if there are few point scored, that means the offense will be terrible. If the current fan boy favorite shines, it will mean that the coaches hate him because he isn't starting and if the current fan boy hate target does well it means that the coaches are playing favorites.

All of this.

Richard Murphy was a Spring Game All-American for 2 years running….how did that project to the regular season?

This and only this. The spring game is never indicative what the team will look like in the fall.

Every year we hear of some guy who is great in the spring, only to never be seen again in the fall. We hear claims that the passing game will be more diverse and effective in the fall, except it never is. We finally get to see LSU throw to the TE's every spring. Come fall, you forget they are even on the team.

"This guy's a beast"
"This unit may be the best ever"
"_____ is really making an impact a X position."

None of it is actually true once the games start in September. Just don't get anyone seriously injured.

Why not have a real scrimmage? O1s v D2s or 1s v 1s. Dividing up into teams is not productive.

QB battle and our LBs. Could one of our QBs actually look comfortable in the pocket this season? What does our LB depth look like?

But, my guess is that Chark barely sees the field this year. Seem like every year, there is some dude that kills it in Spring, some dude that Miles talks about constantly.

Then come the season, we never hear of him again.

Last year it was Avery Johnson and one of the d-lineman (can't remember which one).

But Les talked them up about how great they were all spring. Then when games started...nothing.

Chark is that guy this year.

More people than Miles are talking him up.

If Tre White gets injured all of a sudden we look very weak on the corners.. Keep him healthy.. no punt returns!!!

1. One QB looking better than the other with IMPROVED play.

2. Consistent 10-15 yard down field receptions from our QB/WRs.

3. Lateral LB play where RBs do not reach the corners.

4. Sacks. Or at least consistent pressure that breaks up pass plays.

5. TFLs.

1) QB improvement. Hopefully from both but at least from one. Separation between the two would be nice as well.

2) OL. Who's where and what backups are looking good

3) WR's and who appears to be getting better

4) DL as a whole. Need to be better here

5) LB Kwon is probably our biggest loss. He will be tough to replace on D

As far as Steel goes, I don't think it's fair to judge his D after a few months. Guys will need time to learn.

I only want to see one thing, a QB. Because without that nothing else matters. Not how many people leave early, how many get drafted, 10 win seasons, Top 5 recruiting classes etc.

3.) Toliver vs Paris for the #2 corner spot.

this is the most intriguing thing to me -who takes the #2 spot at CB?

the best possible outcome would be that both ball out and rashard robinson comes back to the team, as reports would indicate. if he does, he'll definitely be the #2, IMO.

also, i wish the OP would've excluded QB play from the "what do you want to see out of spring game." yes, we all want increased production in the passing game. yes, we want to see harris, who has the better arm, step up and take command over the offense. and yes, there are 10 threads about that topic alone every day, not even including every other thread that devolves into an endless QB debate. no, we will be no closer to seeing the light at the end of the QB tunnel after the spring game, though.

Improved QB play.

Improved DL.

Battle for the CB2 between KT and Ed Paris.

Steele and Orgeron.

And the improved play of LF, Dupre, Beckwith, Jamal Adams, Debo.

And wanna see someone emerge that we aren't expecting, sounds like DJ Chark has done that so far in spring as well.

Kick arse defense. I don't care what the QB's do.

Avery Johnson

It was mostly people on here that were talking up Avery Johnson. And people were doing that mainly because of his last name and they didn't really know much about him.

Beat me to it. I was going to say

2. QB
3. QB
4. QB
5. QB

and by the way - Thanks to all of you that gave sensible and logical answers.

All this stuff will be interesting and will generate a great deal of conversation here, but will tell us nothing in the end.

No major injuries is the key.
