I expect him to hit around .300

While I'd love for him to hit .300, that'll be TBD. Lol, all we can do is sit back and watch.

7 people downvoted me saying DJ's rating in some kid's video game was not interesting

I wasn't trying to be contentious. Trust me, I'm a HUGE DJ fan. He was at LSU when I was in college and he was one of my all-time favorites. He just isn't a .315-.320 guy in the majors from my estimation and observation. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with hitting around .270 and playing the kind of defense he does.

Never know. It's not uncommon for a hot start to translate into a hot season and for a player to break out of the box they've been in for years. Not to compare Aaron Hill to DJ as players at all, but Aaron's breakout occurred after a similar hot start.

Posted by lsufball19 the OP makes it sound like he's unaware Lemahieu started 150 games last year for Colorado and won a gold glove. And I also would pump the brakes on his BA. The Rockies would be more than pleased if he hit .275. he's not in the lineup for his hitting. He had the best dWAR in the major leagues last year and, iirc, by a pretty wide margin
I know he is good. I'm speaking on this season based off his last three in which he has slowly worked his way into an everyday starter
Did I not come across as such?

He just made a crazy diving stop in the SF I think you can see it on mlb.com

No it's the reason the rant sucks at times and does not think logically as a whole. All they want to do is eat their own. Every positive post has to bring ridicule and blashing the negative. The major league batting average in 2014 was .249 and LSU "fans" want to act like he's no good at hitting. Well he's was well above average. But if it makes yall feel better about yourselves go ahead and bash away.

I don't think anyone was implying that. But there is a monumental difference between a .320 hitter and a .270 hitter. A .320 puts you with the best in major league baseball. DJ is one of the elite defensive players in the majors but he is not one of the elite hitters.

I agree but plenty major leaguers improve as hitters a later in their careers. I don't think .290-.300 is out of reach for him. But you're right about .320 being a long shot.

I'll be in Denver on the 17th. I'm going to see if I can get DJ to sign my LSU hat.

A third of the season has been played and .339 BA is impressive.
Posted on 7/1/15 at 4:24 pm to NotRight37
.297 now.
Still a really good player, buts its a long season. I think as long as he is with the Rockies he is a .280-.295 hitter with a possible low .300 season. Nothing to sneeze at but not earth shattering either. Helluva glove though.

He is an example of the type of player LSU wants to recruit so we wish him all the best and hope he recruits some players for LSU.

picked him up at .340 on my fantasy team now he's at .297
I'm dropping him to reverse his luck

.329/.385/.444 at home
.263/.313/.328 away from Coors
Ugly splits when he only has 5 more AB at home than the road so sample size is the same.
