The smaller guy with brown hair who is pretty much always there. Today he is in the middle. Thoughts on his ability and approach?

American or Englishmen? Martino is decent enough, while Mustoe and Earle aren't the worst. I do like the commenting teams of Arlo White with either Dixon or Le Saux.

Sorry, American. It's Martino.

Martino is listenable in comparison to other American analysts. Lalas and Wynalda are grating, and Harkes has always annoyed me. Martino is unassuming in comparison and doesn't say all that much stupid shite.

I've always been super impressed with Kyle Martino, miles better than Twellman. I love KM's coverage of MLS matches

My uneducated, unsophisticated take is that he seems hyper-knowledgeable but it annoys me to hear an American overdo it with "fit" and "side" and "pitch." IT doesn't seem forced, which is good, but I don't live it (because I am a redneck ugly american)

I like Martino. Probably the best american analyst. Sorry that him saying things like side and pitch and kit bothers you, but if that kind of stuff bothers you I think watching soccer must be rough.

I feel that terminology is simply different to new viewers. I know it was for me initially. However, the guy is covering the BPL. I think it's only respectful that he uses the local terminology. It's not like he's breaking out a ton of UK specific sayings or phrases, or really even forcing the previously mentioned ones.

I totally understand how off-putting the terminology can be. But try putting yourself in the other person's shoes. If there was a British show covering American football with the term pitch to describe field, supporters to describe fans, and manager to describe coach, I think most American's would find that strange. American's would want that British show to use our terminology because its our sport.

To each his own though. Both sides of that discussion are valid IMO.

You right. I guess it just takes getting used to.

Anyway, I am starting to believe that soccer can be big here. I don't know what it is. There's something about this Premier League shite. It's a good watch. And NBC is putting a good shine on it. Maybe it's just that this time of year is boring, sportswise.

Anyway, it's refreshing not to have so many goddamn knuckleheads on the set yucking it up like morons.

Now, for my lighter fare, I do enjoy the Men in Blazers show.
