I might have caught 1 or 2 @ 22-23''. Nothing huge. I lost a nice sized one in the surf @ Grand Isle last year.

Yall is crazy. I like trout a lot. But on a half shell on the egg with butter, lemon, Creole seasoning and Worcestershire is heaven.

If I had to pick between 5 trout or one red, I'm taking the red all day.

I got pissed one day. Brand new topwater bait...favorite hole for big trout...damn bull red hit it and dented it.

I hear that 14" reds are better than legal reds

I really haven't had many good trips since BP...not like I did before. Not sure if its me or the spill.

I've caught a decent number in the 3.5-5 lb range, but no real cows.

Mine was 7 lbs 12 oz, Tee Butte as well. We caught 48 specks with the largest being a 9 lbs 2 oz monster and the smallest was just over 4 lbs. That was in '03 or '04.

Haven't caught anything remotely close since.

The problem with fishing for big trout is the patience. I've wade fished along the beach in waveland before with topwater. Threw baits at dawn for 2 hours. Only had two blowups and landed one fish. It happened to be a 6 lb fish. Nice fish, but man it does get tedious.
