Not one of my finer moments as an angler

The bream were biting hot and heavy and I'd just lost my hook to a big one. Opted to use a jig from a spinner bait since I left my tackle box up at the house. And, in my haste, I made, for lack of a better term, an errant cast. Ended up with the hook in my ear - OUCH! Fortunately, a friend was over and he cut off the barb and I puled it out - DOUBLE OUCH.
After texting the picture to a doctor friend, he called and said to put topical anti-bacterial cream on it and watch for localized infection. On Monday I'll be headed to his office for a tetanus shot. Elected to call it a night, but I will be back after them in the morning.

Been there, done that with the treble hook. Got a "sparkle tail" hung in my lower lip once on Douglas Lake in East Tennessee. (left myself wide open for all sparkle tail jokes, so have at it!) To make a long story short, had my buddy just push em on through, cut off the barb and back the trebles out of my lip. Yeah, it was back in the day and it involved too many Millers, right after sundown and couldn't see too good, and trying to bite the excess line off with my teeth after tying on a different color sparkletail. Buddy begged me to jump overboard so he could reel me in. Had to keep drinking Millers out of the side of my mouth for the next two days.

Similar thing happened to my dad, but with a regular jighead. Forgot his clippers at the camp. Tried to bite the line off. Slipped and jabbed himself in the nose. Was quite the ordeal.
