I give them a partial pass. The chick is "at work". That is less common than one might think. The prospective groom "Chase" could look worse, he looks like he might get up off his arse regularly and may have a job.

I proposed to my wife at a Checkers Drive thru; spur of the moment deal and that was 25 years ago. Still going strong.
