How much of your own capital would you feel comfortable to trade full time?

Is there any figure that you would quit your job over?

In other words, is there a figure that would be lower than an amount you could retire on, but enough that you could match your salary (or at least standard of living)?

If not equities, which market would you choose?

I would compliment with asset classes other than stocks. At that amount of money, I would have real estate income holdings, a touch of private equity, & fixed income always deserves a place.

So would you say in this circumstance you are really just actively managing your retirement money/nest egg?

IOW, at that point you would be trying to increase your wealth, rather than earn a living, right?

If half that $8 mil was invested in dividend paying stocks and generating a 4% yield that would be $160k/year. I would say that's a very nice living.
