A little girl found her headless pit bull puppy in the backyard of her home in Fort Pierce. Police are now investigating what happened to the 10-week-old puppy. Two additional suspicious incidents are getting a close look by police.

Police said a neighbor reported a similar incident regarding their 8-month-old pit bull. The neighbor said the puppy had a pellet or BB hole on the side of its body last week. The puppy also tested positive for parvo and died last week. The same neighbor said a 7-pound terrier has been missing from his fenced yard since the end of March.

The man told police he saw a man at the wheel of a white Mercedes Benz parked on the street next to his house in the middle of the night. The man shined a flashlight on the car. The driver took off. The neighbor told police he's not sure if the mystery car is related to the incidents surrounding the dogs.

The third incident revolves around a pit bull on Georgia Avenue. The dog's owner brought her pit bull named Rosie into the humane society because it had been lethargic and defecating liquid blood. The vet said the dog tested positive for hookworm and likely ingested rat poisoning at some point.
