I doubt it

Brees is coming off a season in which he was 48 yards away from 5,000 passing yards. He shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon.

If he falls, i wouldnt mind it. He's a great fit for the Payton offense.

Payton's offense is about timing, accuracy and reads. Mariota is sub par on two of those.

really?

his numbers blow Brees out the water their final seasons in college. In similar offenses. Brees was a 60% passer as a JR and SR. Mariota 68%.

Mariota has thrown 14 picks in 1200 collegiate passes. That's pretty unreal for a guy with accuracy & timing problems

I'm more mad at Kendricks being available at 31 and we don't take him.

i don't want to draft brees successor until he is done.

take the shite season and pick from there.

the whole point of a young cheap QB si that you are getting his work for cheap. if he is a 4 year backup by the time he starts you'll be looking at a new contract.

i can't really think of anyone besides the packers who drafted their franchise QB's successor and it worked out. You could say the pats, but thats really blind luck.

You don't take a QB in the first round unless you need an immediate impact. PERIOD. Only an idiot would see it any other way.

It's not every day you have two 1st round picks, and its not every day youre in position to take a potential franchise QB

Sure he'll be there at 13

Then we'll get a couple of picks from the eagles and trade down

Yeah it really screwed over Green Bay taking Rodgers. We would be dumb to not take Mariotta if he falls. Drafts are never just about the coming year.

replacement doesn't equal successor.

Brees was only 2 years ahead of Phillip Rivers.

The thought process is completely different. looking back i am sure the chargers wouldn't have taken a QB with their pick and built around Brees, but there was no knowing that at the time.

You give me Mariota at pick 13, then I can trade Brees to the titans for whomever they picked

let me get this straight. Titans pick who they want then we trade Brees for that random pick because we took Mariota?
