ETA: This album is f#$@ing incredible. It picks right up where Lonesome Dreams left off. I'm not ready to say it overtakes Lonesome Dreams, but it's up there....I was really afraid their unique style of music would fall off. Nope. The vocals and guitar are just as haunting....it still brings visions of a vast desert or wilderness.

I can't decide between Meet Me in the Woods or Frozen Pines as my favorite tracks. They are both up there with Lonesome Dreams and The Stranger. They are both just so, so damn good. I love the female singer's voice and input in Meet Me in the Woods.

Love Like Ghosts is a nice, melodious opening track that picks up just like a Lonesome Dreams. The guitar sounds like the wind blowing through the desert.

Dead Man's Hand is a more MMJ blended with country like tune. I love the harmonica in it.

Way Out There brings visions of a Jon Krakauer novel.

I love the vocals and guitar in La Belle Fleur Sauvage.

Great, great album. I'm going to go pick up the record today.

Album is super good.

Frozen Pines and Meet Me in the Woods standout the most thus far.

I'm really liking this album as well.

The new Waxahatchee is also worth checking out.

Just listened to this album last night for the first time.

Not sure what y'all are hearing but I thought it was really quite mediocre and at times quite bad. It felt like I was listening to an offshoot of Lonesome Dreams performed by lazy, unimaginative college kids. Only redeeming track for me was Dead Man's Hands.

Serious, serious disappointment for me.

To each their own. I like it a lot. My LP came with a comic book

Absolutely.

I'm thinking some of my disappointment stems from how much I loved Lonesome Dreams. I just really, really didn't like this one. Felt forced and like a caricature of what Lonesome Dreams was.

I just listened to this album. Holy Eargasms it's good

I'm so late to the Lord Huron party. I hadn't heard of them until about a month ago. I'm glad I found them (him?). Just incredible stuff.

The music is similar, but that doesn't bother me in the slightest. They have such a feral atmospheric sound. If Jon Krakauer could perform music, this is what it would sound like.
