Picking up a few sacks either friday or saturday to boil sunday. Whats the best method to keep them alive over that timeframe?

Ice chest. Cover with ice. Leave drain open.

Top open or shut? In sack or dump em out?

In sack is fine. Closed.

Put them in your beer refridgerator covered with a wet towel. They'll be okay for a couple days.

ice chest works fine as long as they can get air. you can also just keep them under your carport or a shaded area with wet towels or burlap over them. As long as the towels stay wet and they arent in the sun you are fine for a few days.

If you don't have a big outdoor cooler this is the easiest way and they will be fine for a few days. Have done it this way for years, just make sure the sacks stay in a shaded place with no direct sunlight

Your old roommate, his family, and I finished about 65lbs yesterday. Little over 10lbs a piece. I barely had enough room for the 6 hardboiled eggs and chocolate rabbit I ate last night.
You gonna be there next weekend?

Jesus H Christ.
I am planning on feeding 25 people (half girls half guys) and only buying 100lbs. Bad idea?

You need to budget for 5lbs per person.

IMHO, most girls will eat 3lbs and guys 5lbs. Then you have your outliers like me that'll eat 10-15lbs
In all honesty, I ate the most by far, but 6 people on 65lbs is a lot by any standard

If it's all adults from south LA, I would budget 5#/person.

You've just got to figure out what's most important in your life and prioritize. Yesterday afternoon, crawfish was at the top of my list
I ate 20 one time when I was younger. Could've kept going, but I ran out. I just have the ability to eat a hell of a lot of food like that Japanese guy
chickman, get them from that place on 59 by the S-curve. They were perfect size yesterday, and we had one of these baws

yep, this is my go-to method as well...
whatever you do, they have to stay cool and well ventilated....I killed a whole sack one time by closing the lid too tight...
