Has River Monsters run its course?

Seems all the shows are basically the same, he isn't discovering some kind of monster now but it seems every show is a damn catfish of some kind.
I mean the shows where he was pulling:
Seem to be all in the earlier seasons now

I'll say yes. Back in 2011 when I spent 5 days in county jail this was by far the show we watched most and it wasn't even close. Urban youth loved River Monsters in 2011

Those saying this isn't a good hire are forgetting the situation UA was in last week. They were embarrassed nationally. This flips the script and gets excitement back in the program.
Will it work out long term? Only time will tell. I think if UA gives him the money to stack some college weathered assistants, it could end up being a home run. Urban youth loved River Monsters in 2011
What's going on here?
And the answer is NO. Have you seen the shite Animal Planet is putting on now? With shows about pools, fishtanks, houses built around trees, and cops in the middle of nowhere this is one of the networks only shows left featuring animals.

He needs to switch up to saltwater and catch some man-fish.

I get scared when I watch river monsters alone but holy frick that show is absolutely amazing.
I agree that it seems to almost always be a catfish, though. Don't care, love the local tales and legends and shite. Jeremy wade is a god

So was tonight's episode no good?

Tonight was just "meh" in my opinion and I loved last years anaconda episode....

Just caught the tail-end earlier and starting the re-run now. Seemed like a terrible episode from what I saw earlier.

I read something about Wade one time that said he has permanent heart damage from an arapaima launching out of the water and slamming into his chest while fishing the Amazon. Don't know if it happened on the show or before he became famous, but nonetheless, that's some crazy stuff.

Yeah, that was actually on the show. I think he broke some ribs on the same hit. He was not treated immediately, but finished filming just thinking it was a normal injury. Later he found out about the heart damage and the broken ribs. Jeremy is the man.

this. if he switches to saltwater fishing, limited to kayaks, he could run the show for another 10 years easily.

I "like" fishing somewhat, but I agree. His passion for fishing is pretty contagious and he makes freshwater fishing seem like an extreme sport. Pretty badass dude.
Have y'all noticed he speaks like 5 languages?

Jeremy Wade is awesome. he could keep catching the same shite over an over again and I would watch. seeing him catch something massive in a spot you would not think, is cool as hell.
and also why i won't get in water i cannot see the bottom.

British accent + over exaggeration of danger =/= badass
His show got taken down a notch for me when he made noodling catfish seem as dangerous as any other river monster he goes after. I'm not saying there's no danger involved, but when there are shows about red necks getting tourists to do this, how much danger is really involved? He's an engaging personality but if he exaggerated that, what else has been less of a threat than he indicated?
