I know there are different types of canoes made with varying materials. I would need it to be light weight and equally durable. Help me OB. What should I buy? I would much rather SOT Kayak for me and the woman, but she is hesitant about paddling by herself. Tips on how to build her confidence? Maybe I'll just buy two of these and be done with it LINK

WS Commander would be perfect for the wife, although I dont know about taking it through any rough water as it does not have scupper holes to bail any water.

I have a Penobscot by old town made of royalex. It's light and I like it. Haven't done anything above class two in it.
