Updated for Coach Guidry.....2016 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring FWD

My wife wants this vehicle and the price on the mazda lot is $33k w/nav and all the other bells and whistles. When I use cargurus I see the same vehicle for $29k. Do you think I could talk the dealership down?

Go to cars.com, search for 2016 CX-5's, filter only grand touring, and sort by price. I see plenty with around $2k off but only a few offering more than that. We looked for one locally last week and the best they were giving was $1000 off. Now I'm leaning toward a CPO Lexus RX.

When you say all bells and whistles....what do you mean? Im showing several different packages within each trim level.

Making a call now.
Thank you. Hopefully my expectations of asking the dealership to drop $3k or $4k isn't unrealistic.

Blind spot detection, rear view camera, moonroof, LED headlights, the nice stock rims, etc. I forgot to take a picture of the vehicle on the lot, sorry.

The Lexus NX200T is the other vehicle I'm looking at if I I can't talk the the dealership down. Would rather not spend $30k+ on a mazda, on a Lexus sure.

Did they say a specific package?? Mazda has a billion different ways to price a vehicle. Im happy I do not have to deal with that

Not to take away from the OP, but what's a good discount off retail for a Honda CR-V EX-L with leather and nav, generally speaking? I was put off by my local dealer (Holmes) not just because they wouldn't budge off MSRP, but because they tacked on a $695 bullshite clear coat protection package ("It protects the paint from acid rain" is a line I had to resist laughing at). Shreveport dealers are still living in the 90s it seems.

Negative. I remember reading dealer's package though.

Coach,
Could you work your magic and give me a fair price on a 2016 Acura MDX, AWD, advance/entertainment package.
TIA.

Coach, here are some pics of the car info. Also, I haven't had to negotiate much of anything in a long long time. I'm really interested in buying the vehicle for my wife, she loves it, but what leverage can I use in negotiating with the dealership. I feel like paying $30k+ for a mazda crossover isn't worth it when I can get a luxury Lexus crossover for $5k more.

CX-5s for the US Market are built in Hiroshima.
The "J" character as the first digit in any VIN means a vehicle built in Japan.
FYI: There is reportedly a slight mid-model update/refresh on '16 CX-5s.

I like the way that Mazda dealership does there addendum stickers. I could barely tell that it was bs. Lol.

They jumped from 28k to 34k...geez.
Ok this is easier to price now that I see what is actually going on. Give me a sec.

Whats throwing me off is...
MSRP-28220.00
MSRP with Installed-32,585.00
Total Price-34,985.00???
I'm working off the 32,585.00 number...now with this being a 16...I don't see them moving strong off the price. What's worst is now that they have added everything to it, its truly difficult for me to see what all the accessories actually cost. But...I'm coming up with a number of about 31950.00.

The 695 is horse shite. Unbelievable. They aren't moving off the price simply because they do not have one. CRV EXL with NAV is rare right now. I don't even have one. If you do find one, 1500-2k off sticker is respectable. Hardly any markup in the CRV.

What I found from the mazda siteLINK
The active sense package and the tech package add about $3k to the price, then they add delivery/processing and handling fee, and other extra add ons like fabric protection which comes from the dealership themselves.
Is there anything you see that I can negotiate?
