Help identifying a baby snake

Anyone have any idea what this is exactly? Just killed it in our garage. Obviously a baby but I kind of squashed his head when killing it. That's why I can't make it out? Being in the garage and not being able to identify it as poisonous or not makes me a little nervous. Especially with my wife and little fellow going to the car in flip flops.

Like they said a dekay's brown snake. Large adults of the species are only about a foot long.

Could be Dekayi, but pattern isn't visible. Might be a Rough Earth snake, also very small when adult. Could even be a Redbellied snake (Storeria occipitomaculata). Hard to tell with picture not focused well.

West Monroe is close enough to ellick....I'll say that it is a ground rattler....

They typically don't like garages

I was looking on my phone earlier, but I think you are right on the rough earth. Like you said with the pic quality there is no discernible pattern. The head shape does scream rough earth though. Of course the head could be a little squished and there could be a pattern that the blurry photo doesn't reveal.
I say based on what we have to look at...rough earth.
