Earlier this week, a fan released a remake of the first level of Super Mario 64 built in Unity. Not only was it incredibly well done, but you could even play it in your browser. Sadly, the proprietors of the no-fun-zone at Nintendo decided that it was copyright infringement, and forced the fan to take it down.
Days later, another fan has released yet another remake, but this time its from Super Mario Galaxy.
YouTube user CryZENx explains that this is a very early tech demo built in Unreal Engine 4, but despite its lack of content, Mario still looks amazing in full HD.

That guy released at the wrong time. He happened to do that mod the week they were releasing it for virtual console

This is a great taste of what 3d Mario might look like on true next gen hardware, but saying he "remade Super Mario Galaxy with the Unreal Engine" is a vast overstatement (and I acknowledge that Yahoo Games and the creator titled it similarly).
It's a tech demo of Mario running around on a few untextured, white cubes.
