Sorry if Germans
Exactly one month from today, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will meet in the fight everyone wanted five years ago. You’d better start saving up now.
HBO and Showtime are deep into negotiations with distributors to carry the May 2 fight, and according to the Wall Street Journal those details should be finalized within a few days. That includes what it’s going to cost you to order.
Under the terms being discussed, the fight will be sold for $99 for a high-definition feed and $89 for standard definition, both of which are record prices. The previous high was $74.95 for high-definition and $64.95 for standard.
That’s a lot of money! But, then, this is a very big fight. The biggest fight boxing’s been able to offer in 18 years—or at least the one with the most mainstream appeal. Even if you don’t think it’s going to be a very good fight, or even a particularly close one, there’s a good chance you still really want to know how it’ll all go down—and to enjoy the pomp along the way. Is $99 too much to ask for that?
Even with the price tag, it’s expected to shatter PPV and gate records, and according to the Associated Press, Floyd Mayweather’s share of the purse could be $180 million. You don’t have to watch it, you know.

So about $30 more dollars than a typical Mayweather fight? Oh yeah, gotta start saving my pennies, that'll be tough to swing.

Well if you want Pacquiao to win it won't be worth it.

Have 10 people over, get everyone to throw up $25.
Use $80 for alcohol, $70 for food and $100 for the fight.
Have fun.

You're right.
Someone should make a call to HBO/Showtime and tell them that no one is going to watch their fight.

Poor Money May gonna get that arse beat..

Will there be any bars showing the fight? That'll probably be my first option. Those free Internet streams are laggy as shite. I want to avoid streaming at all costs.

Millions. Millions of people will pay at least some money to watch this fight.
I don't have any interest in boxing. I'm seriously not sure if I have ever watched a full match. I can't recall. I will be paying to watch this fight. Not $100, but I will be paying.
