I can upgrade to the 5c for 0.99 or pay $200 for the 6. I'm not crazy about the larger display so I'm leaning heavily toward the 5c. I don't do anything special with my phone other than work e-mail and streaming over Wi-Fi. Any real reason to pay for the 6?

Future proofing a bit. Have you considered splitting the difference and paying $99 for the 5S? If lag doesn't bother you in the least then go ahead and get the 5C, but know it will be discontinued in 6 months.

The larger display should be a non issue. Spend half a day with it and you'll wonder how you ever put up with a 4" screen.

ETA: Not to mention the 5C is only 8 GB. Do you take any pictures or shoot video with your phone?

the 5c is basically a 2.5 year old phone now (essentially a 5 in a new case). Its going to get slow real quick with app updates that it can't handle, and less storage than the 6 can have. Once you have the 6 for an hour you will love the size of it.

I have a 5c that I got 18 months ago. The wife and I were switching to Verizon, and it was only $99 and since I was buying two of them, and didn't really need the fingerprint scanning and all that extra that came on the 5S, we went with the 5C. It is still a pretty good phone. Takes great pics, is fast on LTE and WiFi. That being said, I'm counting the days until September until I can get the larger screen. I'd never buy anything older than one year back as far as model. Plus they do strip them down to 8GB like someone said. My sister learned that the hard way. She got either a 4 or 4S a few years ago right after the 5 came out. Didn't realize it was so cheap because it was older and only 8GB. And I'll also never buy a 16GB phone ever again. I don't have a ton of any one thing, but apps, music, videos and pics take up tons of space and every now and then I have to delete older stuff from it.
