Such as having Triple or Double A parks bid to host the Supers and place the top 8 teams with a chance to go to the closest based on geography. Yes it would cost some people some money, but I think it could grow the sport also.

Examples of the Supers would be:

Far West Region: Sacramento
West Regional: Surprise/Peoria/HI Corbett Field
Southwest Region: Round Rock
South Region: Zephyr

You get the idea. I know it is terrible financially to schools but I think it could give people chances to see games that normally do not and give people chances to play on a field they'll never get to.

ETA:

A pro would be it could give places like Chattanooga, Memphis, etc exposure to quality baseball on the college level.

This, just like neutral site "classics" and the new football playoff "never-ending road trip/away games" format.....is a VERY BAD idea !

Why is it a bad idea to have a NCAA Tournament at a neutral site?

I am not saying you are wrong, but want to know your reasoning.

So crew the fans that have been attending games all year (which olny happens at a handful of schools btw) so that some jackoff in Houston gets to see a clollege baseball game? hell no!

What's the difference in "screwing" the basketball fan that has to travel to Pittsburgh for a 2nd round game?

You will get to host a Regional if you are one of the top 16, I am just talking about Super Regionals.

Again, I am not saying you are wrong. I just want to hear a reasonable explanation of why not to do it.

Tehre is no difference, except basketball at the college level is more popular than baseball.

college baseball needs their top teams in Omaha more than basketball needs the top teams in the Final Four... so you give them every advantage possible

The Supers you really only get the advantage 1 time, guaranteed.

The Friday/Saturday of opening night.

You get your dugout, you are the home team, and you get to hit at your regular time.

You can sell alot more tickets at a neutral site in basketball than you can in baseball.

The problem is you would have to arrange that with the minor league teams already in season.

It might work in New Orleans with a LSU, Tulane ULL in a regional or something like that.

Where would you have California type regionals and I don't think you would get the support there.

Everything the NCAA has done with baseball always seems to take two steps back before moving forward like with the bats. I do think the super regionals are a lot better than the way they had it before.

Without the campus support I think you lose something with the environment which is not good.

Omaha is not a cheap trip to support your team either, making people spend more money on regionals is not a great idea.

There is a better chance of moving to three rounds of best of three before the CWS.

I think of all college sports, baseball has the best postseason format. The regionals are fun as shite to follow, especially now when they are all televised.
