What percentage of NFL fans travel to every single away game?
How in the world would I know that? Furthermore, it's an irrelevant question.

Why wouldn't someone want to travel overseas?

Because traveling overseas is more of a hassle than staying in the US. ETA: And as Kosmo pointed out, much more expensive.

Seriously, you can't identify these issues by yourself?

Very few, but if they are in your division, that's one less chance you have to see their games away, and drives up the value of the rest of the away games.

Who wants to travel to London ($$$) for a weekend just to watch an NFL game? Sure some people would make a trip of it, but that is still more $$$.

If I'm going to London on vacation I'm not spending more money of my pocket for something I could get in the states. Why would I waste my vacation time and quite a bit of money overseas on an event I can see 20 minutes from my house 8 times a year?

If the main argument against a relocation is that it will make for one away trip that's more expensive for the 0.1% of NFL fans that make more that 1 or 2 away games a year, you have no argument.

I understand the wanting to get outside of the US market, but it is a haul. It could be done with proper scheduling. Certainly would be a huge home field advantage if the English supported the team.

an NFL team in london if fricking stupid as shite.

They will go 8-8 every year because they will have to travel 16 hours via plane just to get to half their games

The travel back and week after prepping for another game should be fun, especially for the west coast teams

#1 They will play 4 game blocks home and away.

#2 They will have an east coast base of operations for their two 4 game away trips.

#3 London to NY, Boston, DC, Baltimore, Philly, Pittsburg and Buffalo (25% of the league) is no worse a flight than the west coast teams flying out east or vice versa.

#4 Both of London's 4 game away stands will begin in one of those cities.

#5 Concord style plane to make flights easier both on London players but also players and staff traveling away to play at London.

It's also good for the league and the game.

Just wait til the Seahawks play the Jag-u-wars. I'm sure those players are going to love that 16 hr flight.

They were grounded in 2003 and the new technology is 15+ years in the future and you're telling me my concerns are farfetched?

The problem is if they keep the Jags in the AFC south, then it's Houston to London, Nashville to London, Indy to London. The only chance it would have of working is if they moved a team in the NFC or AFC East or they moved the divisions around.

Moving the divisions around for something that probably won't even make money seems quite dumb. People over there don't give a frick about American football and won't consistently support a team. To me the jingoism is thinking 'Merican football is so great they have to love it if we move it there

The problem was with the business model, not the technology...

So every team not on the east coast is going to have a bye week after they play this team? How will that work?

They need to poll the NFL players to see what percentage would even consider playing for a London-based team.

FWIW, the games at Wembley have sold out every time. Far in advance.

Theres a lot wrong with doing this. Fan support isn't one of them.
