I always wanted a Jeep growing up. My parents for some reason bought me a 91 wrangler when I was 15 and I learned to drive stick. I was young and naive and didn't want an older one. Ended up selling it in college because it had its share of problems. Looking back I wish I would have looked harder and found an old CJ. They're holding value very well still for old vehicles.

About 12 years and a pickup and a couple of SUVs later I finally got a TJ. I'm never selling it. I may pass it down to a kid but that is at least 9 years away.

The 1972 FJ40 I let get away, the one I never will let get away is a 2002 BMW M3 cabriolet. Day in day out the best car I've ever owned and I've had my share.

Back in '76 I was weighing between a '72 BMW 2002tii and a 1959 Packard Carribean. About the same money.

WISH I had gotten the Packard.

The one that you owned because of whatever reason sold and would like to own again. Mine: 1972 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40 Red 3 speed Just absolutely the toughest piece of equipment not Army issued I've ever been around. Paid $800 dollars for it spent another thousand modding and it was sweet.

I had the exact Cruiser down to the color. Bulletproof.

IceTiger The One That Got Away - Car Edition Cars I've had
1982 Porsche 944 ( fun) 1988 xr38i 1982 cutlass ttops

944 was just a nicely balanced machine. The devalued used market made them accessible to be bought cheap and used hard. A good one is still as good as ever. I had several the best being 1988 S model, essentially a 928S engine cut in half. The Cutlass with t tops was the car everyone wanted.
1988 xr38i is that the Merkur? If so I liked them as well. Believe it had the same Pinto based 2.2 liter engine with a turbo. Much like the SVO Mustang another car I liked.

1980 911SC. Car is worth 25k right now

Everyday when I open my garage I hate that my 930 is not sitting there.

The two cars I miss the most are
- Porsche 930
- Porsche 964

I traded my 996 for my current 964. There is a pile of parts in my parents garage that I call a 72 911.

Never had a 930 but traded the 996 I owned for a 997 4S worrying over the ongoing rear main seal issues on the early water cooled motors. It's a case of its faster, better, quieter, but not better.
Both are quick, but I enjoyed the fuss made by the 996 when you got down on it, noise and all. The 997 is much faster but done in a benign sort of boring way.

1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer! Loved that truck, was not the fastest on the block, but it could tow a house.

Black 4 door 2001 Hyundai Accent.

It wouldn't spin a tire up hill from a stop on a wet gravel road. It felt like a go kart from frankies fun park with a body made from a monster can. But... it was my first car.

"Traded up" to a black 2 door 1999 Hyundai Accent, 5-speed with a blown engine from a lady in virginia for $200. New engine and it ran great.

Basically the same car, but I could only stare down friends and humorously burnout in the school parking lot with a clutch to pop

Will get another someday, probably the cheapest car here.

I would have loved to turn that car over to Singer and let them redo it.
