Needed some R&R after harassing the OT all day so decided to cast a line after work. Mostly caught a bunch of small bass in the 10 inch range. Cast out and was acting stupid with a crank bait when this fool hit it.

Biggest fish of the day.

Don't know the weight, heavy enough to hurt my thumb for the picture

I don't get it.

Oh well, just excited.

Taking up fishing after not ever doing anything more than a trotline or brim fishing as a kid.

Didn't buy my first pole until almost 29.

OB culture is to show a foot in each Hoist. We don't hold, lift, or pose. We HOIST!!

Nice catch man.

Yes. It was an idea my Paw Paw had that came to fruition.

He didn't fish either.

I've occasionally brought people out there while I pretend to fish.

Probably the third time in my life I've cast a line alone.

Not opposed to sharing once I'm sure you're not all thieves and murderers.

Still have a standing offer for a pint of the clear stuff for anyone who lets me shoot a baby glock 10mm.

Like so...

I think using a banana for scale is also acceptable.

Nice bass. Don't forget for those monsters to give them some support under the belly and not jus hold em by the lip as it could (although rarely) break their jaw. Also if you like to do a lot of bank fishing on the go and need a good and easy way to estimate your fish for size, add a cheap rod ruler to your favorite rods. It is just a sticker about 1/4" wide and 24" long that you can stick on the back of your rod. Academy carries them.

Again, nice job and glad you get a chance to connect with paw paw that way.

In the future, please use one of my old pics as a guide, or an outline, if you will. The important thing is to have the outdoor critter prominently displayed, in this pic, it's obviously a killer rattler. Also have your beverage of choice, the weapon, or in your case the rod prominently displayed,,, and MOST important, your boot, and or foot gives a nice size comparison and gives extra hoisting or posting points.

Y'all would hate on the zebco.

Accident left my left wrist a bit weaker than it was and the hand, specifically the thumb, slower to respond than the right.

Basically means I get to to be the grown man using a closed reel.
