damn, just like that. LINK

We consider the changes to Indiana’s RFRA a good first step toward creating the sort of welcoming environment we encourage everywhere, so we’re reinstating our May 7 show at The Murat, which we canceled earlier this week. To quote an Indiana University statement from yesterday, “religious liberty and equal protection under the law are both cornerstones of our democracy and they should not be in conflict with each other.” Well said, IU…
We’ve been putting on shows with our neighbors in Indiana for more than 20 years and are happy to continue that at the Murat in May. We’ll also donate a portion of the proceeds from this show to organizations fighting to build on the progress we hope this change makes in Indiana and beyond. More details soon.

Love, Wilco

So they punish their fans who wanted to see them play?

Tweedy is kind of a douche so it's not that surprising.

does Wilco even have a big enough presence to make a tiny splash?

I would be pissed if they cancelled my show because of their political views.

Shouldn't they do the opposite and play a free show to draw attention? Or perform at Starbucks?

I personally think its a grey area that should be avoided... I cant respect them for taking a stand but too cancel a show for it is messed up..

THink about the people who made travel plans to see the show and took off work etc etc... they wont be reimbursed for those expenses

I don't see anything noble about it. Wish their fans would respond to this decision the same way Wilco is responding to Indiana's.

I'm a big Wilco fan but totally disappointed by this. My like of Wilco has nothing to do with their political views. Why punish loyal fans that spend hard earned money on tickets, albums, swag, ect. Most fans probably don't care about this one way or the other. Some fans are from out of state and make plans, and pay good money to travel to see the band. Jeff Tweedy needs to use his big microphone to continue to sing some incredible tunes not punish fans, and stay out of politics.
