i actually called them and got redirected a bunch of times before being told that they couldn't tell me for security reasons. i was interested because i wanted to know the exact date one of the aerial photos was taken so i could measure a flooded area against the ms river stage at the time.

You stupid fricker you. It's RIGHT THERE on the map. Top left by the address. It'll let you see older images if available(with month and year).

Wait that is on PC. Not sure about smartphone.

It's on there somewhere, where depends on your browser. Usually a month/year.

I've noticed they're date stamping some photographs and even allowing you to "time travel" back through previous photographs at the same location.

Don't know how widespread it is or how many places they have this for, but I noticed it the past few days.

YMMV

Aerial. I'm not sure. I know on Google Earth, you can see. Not sure about Google Maps.

I would think Google Earth and Google Maps use the same imagery. Maybe download Google Earth and look.

Yeah to date Aerial photography you can get a timeframe based on buildings under construction at the time, foliage in the trees, etc.

Generally aerial photography is flown in the winter time, ideally when the trees are most bare.

If you are interested in this at all, then go ahead and download google earth. There you can scroll through many different areal photos over many years.
