I hope it doesn't slow down their lunch service. I'm not much of a b'fast person but occasionally have a Big Mac attack.

On the surface it seems like a good move. They have a big share of breakfast and millennials wake up at noon to start playing their video games, log in to their facebooks and such.

of course it will, this is why scaling back their menu is so great. they focus on the things that matter, and they improve their service.

mcdonalds use to be Americana. Occassionally, the working mom brings home mcdonalds for a burger night (because she worked late and didn't have time to cook)

now it's just lost in an endless sea of fast food chains, and it does nothing to distinguish itself. the brand used to do that, but then they spend 15 years reworking that brand and making it suck.

unbelievable how you can frick up mcdonalds. it's like turning on a water faucet...it's that easy.

nowhere. mcdonalds is a fascinating business strategy example right now.

they've lost their way, and with an established brand (although somewhat lost) it isn't hard to get back to where they were...but even still, they're fricking it all up.

McDonald's made it a mission a few years back. They featured african americans in the majority of their commercials, had a whole website and campaign dedicated exclusively to the black community. Coincidentally, their CEO was black.
this started way before he showed up, but he did take them deeper into that mess.

even now, they've fired him and they're still fricking up the easiest enterprise in the united states.

I would rather an all day burger menu. I'm not a big breakfast guy.

Breakfast is the one thing most fast food places actually do pretty well.

A big breakfast would hit the spot on Sunday aftwrnoons. Mix in a little champagne and have yourself a McMosa with that meal.

Nah, McDonalds has nothing on their menu that is reverse seared or with some sort of reduction. Nor is anything cooked on a green egg so therefore it wouldn't qualify for a food and drink board post.

You should be their branding director, and I'm not joking.

You know what black people and white people both want?

Good food, quickly.

yeah, BOTH. McDonalds advertises to ONE. People may not even notice, but their brains do (and not in the way mcdonalds had hoped for). That's why these ad men in NY and LA get paid big money.

the brand image is a more minor point to this one...scale down the menu, focus on what you do best...good food, quickly. scaling down the menu greatly expedites the procedure.
