McDonald's made it a mission a few years back. They featured african americans in the majority of their commercials, had a whole website and campaign dedicated exclusively to the black community. Coincidentally, their CEO was black.

have you not seen a mcdonalds commercial in the last 15 years?
365 black is their website, making everyday African American history and culture day. (the message being, "not just one month") It just rubs so many of their consumers the wrong way, and with so much competition (and really no difference in quality), it has cost them business.

I average about three. Ive gone to one a few times but I forget the pattern. One time I LEFT all but three. I think that's a cracker Barrel record.

McDonald's is terrible outside of their fries and a few other things. They need to tailor their food. It's way too awful to be charging what they do.
They still use the same shitty ingredients

Haven't even noticed. But my racist tendencies have me feeling conflicted right now... I may have to boycott McD's.

Kolache Kitchen and Dunkin Donuts are right next to the 2 McDonald's near my house. Rendering the McDonald's breakfast completely obsolete.

quote:mcdonalds basically ushered in this new era of "next tier quality" fast food with an emphasis on service and quality.
Places like 5 Guys have eaten into their business.
smash burger, 5 guys, chipoltle, etc. Do these chains have the national brand recognition they do now if not for Mcdonalds spending almost 2 decades tarnishing their brand image and alienating customers.
Mcdonalds also missed a huge opportunity to fight back with that stupid movie. They should've said "yeah, eating fast food everday is not good for you. We make burgers and fries, we make them well and we make them fast, and our customers love that. burgers and fries are not good for you, but we believe making personal decisions is what America is all about. Eating too much of anything is not good for you. nutritious burgers aren't what our customers demand because they don't taste very good. they demand taste and expeditious, quality service and we deliver it. we're committed to serving our customers."

I gave up Mcdonald's years ago. I only eat breakfast at places that serve real food (yes I'm a food snob). But recently, I tried Mcdonald's pancakes because I really wanted some and didn't want to cook any. I see why I gave it up. This stuff is trash. You really can tell the difference after eating real food for a long time. The pancakes were like leather. it was like they put them in the microwave too long.
Why don't you go sit in the corner and think about what you just said

Same here, of course the last black person I saw in my town was trying to drive through but ended up in cuffs being escorted by 3 staters.
Now I want a BEC biscuit with an extra hash brown.

quote:your brain certainly did. no? no one liked the mocha commercial with no white people and smooth r & b tracks? it's not who they're catering to, it's that that's who they're almost exclusively catering to with the menu and advertisements.
Haven't even noticed

Some things you should just keep to yourself.
The one near my house does a combo menu with breakfast and dinner items from something like midnight to 6 AM and then switch to Breakfast only until 10:30. I want to go one night after midnight and order a McDouble, McGriddle, McFlurry, and fries and hashbrowns, with a shamrock shake. Then go into a food coma for about 2 days.

Peg game is still there. I used to have the strategy down to win it, but I've forgotten it.
