this is up there with "doggy dog world", "for all intensive purposes", and "suppose to". How do people go their whole lives without realizing they are saying common phrases wrong?
What are the best ones you've heard?

They said it, but I asked "Did you say chalk full?" and he said "Yeah, chalk full. What did you think I said?"

I think it has become common talk, but it bothers me when people say chester drawers instead of chest of drawers.

The correct term is "chalk full". According to wikipedia, "The term chalk full was coined in Nevada during the gold rushes of the 19th century. As chalk is often found alongside gold in mineral deposits, miners digging into rock would report that a vein was "chalk full" meaning that gold would probably soon be found."

Never saw it, but I'm referring more to phrases than word pronunciation. Like "a mute point" instead of "irregardless".
