If you have the under gunnel space, I recommend the rope lights.

no gunnel space but the skeeters do have a raised center console for foot space so I was thinking under there

All of the big LED manufacturers have small LED pods, or "rock lights". I just bought some bigger lights from Baja Designs, but remember seeing them on their website. Really nice people, built the lights that I wanted (even though they didn't have any at the time), and put together a wiring kit how I asked. Rigid also has them too, but I chose BD because of their quality and customer service. They are both around the same price IIRC

There was no way I was gonna buy some rinky dink slant eye lights off of eBay and have them break two minutes after I turn them on

Yea I need them to stand up to salt water, fish guts and boat washing. I'll look into that thanks

I actually never thought of using these...assuming you are talking about the ones encased in a plastic tube that you buy around the camping supplies...

do these run on 12 volts?

Im sure you could use those but they have some that are less ghetto. There are very small/thin strips for boat applications

Yup. You're looking for a strip of 5050 SMD LEDs with the waterproof casing. They have an IP rating that will be fine for marine fishing. I had mine submerged in my saltwater fish tank for 3 years no problem.

You can find them on ebay for $30 for about 15 ft.

Just don't use a cheap power adapter. I did and it literally caught my apartment on fire

Amazon for about $20. Got 3 rolls before hunting season. They work great. I would use some spray adhesive in it cause the 3m backing isn't that great. Throw a switch and a fuse in, hook to battery and off you go for under $80.

This. got a set of waterproof led rope lights from Amazon for like $20. Wired and hooked it to an aux switch. Good to go. (Trying to post pics).

Use blue or green. Stay away from red. Not good to use them if red when running. It can off set your running lights. Green is best for night vision. Don't use over power lights. Install overhead LED deck lights for that in white.
