If he can get on a roll all bets are off.

His problem is between the ears. He can get on a roll and then lose his shite in a major. Firestone and Bay Hill are nice but he gives 2 shits.

His driving is what it always was. Down the pipe or sprayed. Everybody has his power now. At least. Putter has failed him.

The most compelling long term sprts story going right now. Like Jordan winning 4 titles and then deciding he's 25 again and drives every basket, says frick his team mates, and can't hit free throws.

I dont know

Which professional at their peak did pussy deliver her most excruciating defeat, Tiger or Mike Tyson?

He won 5 tournaments and was player of the year two years ago. I feel way more confident about Tiger winning on tour and a major than Phil.

To be fair, Phil won a major the same year Tiger won 5 tournaments. As well as T2 at the US Open.

I think it's impossible to predict if either will win again. Golf is a game where you can turn it on for four days and win a championship.

Don't get me wrong, I think Phil will win again at some point. I'm just more confident in Tiger doing it. They're too good not to.

Phil, yes. Tiger, perhaps. Did you see his performance in his last event? You can't win on Tour consistently skulling pitch/chip shots.

I think Phil win more majors than Tiger in the next few years. I like Phil in the Masters.

Here's an interesting stat:

Tiger led the field in Driving Distance at the WM. In his limited action so far this year, he's averaging 323 yards off the tee.

LINK

So, if he can get some semblance of his short game back, he's still got plenty of power to win on Tour.

He may not be Tiger Woods anymore, but he's still Tiger Woods.

In my mind, his focus has to be passing Sneed and picking up another major or two. He could do this at a US Open or a British where playing strategically would outweigh ball striking and scrambling.

If he's the all time leader in tour wins and gets another major or two then he could legit claim a tie with Nicklaus for best ever.

After reading through the thread, I guess I am in the minority. Many posters think he will win again but not catch Jack/Snead.

Personally, I think he either never wins again, or he figures it out and breaks both records. No in between.

Tiger will get healthy again, may be his year, may be in 5 years. I do think he will win a major again but won't catch Jack. He's 39 years old so let's not put him out to pasture yet. Golfers have won majors after 40 and with modern technology that number will continue to grow

While I would be extremely happy with the latter, I think there is definitely an in-between. When he returned to winning tournaments in 2012-2013, there was a noticeable difference in his ability to finish in the majors.

This
Watching Tiger right now is saddening, bc it doesn't look like he knows what he is trying to do. His dad anchored him mentally with Butch as a back up. He needs to suck it up and get back to Butch.
For the past few years, his practice swings look like he wants to play a MASSIVE cut. Tiger's swing was always a butter draw, and could hammer out a high fade or low stinger on command. i don;t think he could draw a golf ball to save his life right now.
Tiger could over power places like Augusta, bc he could hit 8 irons 200 yards. he could hit a high 8 were other guys were having to run in a 4. It allowed him to stop the ball on longer shots which created easier putts/birdie opportunities. This makes putting easier in general mentally. The days of 200 yard 8is are over. With his injuries, he is having to relearn the game. he has to completely change the way he looks at a golf course.

It tough, but it can be done. If his body gets back together, he will win again. If not and he keeps trying to smash it by everyone, his health will keep him from winning or even finishing tournaments.

Tiger's private plane just spotted at Augusta, GA regional airport. Would appear is currently at Augusta National practicing and preparing to play the Masters.

No way. He quit wearing a magnetic butt plug after the whole thing broke and that has ruined his swing and inner balance.

His mental edge is long gone. That fire is no longer there.
The last I time I watched him play he was chipping and putting like an 18 hdcp and that is not related at all to physical ailments, that is strictly mental. He has the yips.....and the yips have certainly shortened the career of more than 1 golfer.

IF his back and knees can get physically better he will be competitive tee to green.....but his mental approach to his short game needs serious work.

I could see him stringing together 3 or 4 good rounds down the road and being in the hunt on Sunday's but I just don't think he has what it takes to win at this point.

According to Rosaforte said on TGC, Tiger is now getting his chips airborne. My ample gut tells me Tiger will tee it up next Thursday. Nantz & CBS are ecstatic.

They'd be a lot more excited if he actually makes it to the weekend.

I heard Nantz on college sports nation yesterday. The host asked Nantz about whether he thinks Tiger will show up at Augusta. I was impressed -- Nantz kind of spazzed out and said there is so much else to talk about and went on and on about Rory. Of course, CBS would love it, but it was nice to hear Nantz not be a total Eldrick dickrider.
