I realize Laird burns once he gets going. But Deichmann just needed to run to 1st in this instance.

regardless to say he isn't even close to Laird's speed is ignorant

Don't know if it's right either. Were you there?

Either way laird is faster than deichman unlike what you said

Laird also gets out of the box much quicker.

That was hyperbole, admittedly, but he's not faster.

I agree. That was my point. I really do wish he wouldn't have put this out. Wasn't his radio show tonight? He could have addressed it then if he wanted to. I would hope in a different way that's not so condescending. And maybe it would come out better if he could better explain it love rather than in a letter.

3 chances to get a hit. Or a bunt and two chances to just get the ball out of the infield with them in (for at least one out). When you are playing for just a single run, the percentages (I wish I could find them) say go with the latter.

yea, again, in hindsight.

he could have made a productive out and been in the same situation as a bunt. You don't draw it up for him to hit in the DP. The same reason i wouldnt hope him to bunt it in the air, or bunt into a force at 3rd. Who knows what would have happened

It wasn't in a letter, it's what he told the media today. Dellenger just transcribed the quote and posted it to twitter. He doesn't know baseball, but he knows what will get arise out of people.

Dude! It's not fricking hindsight, that is the most obvious bunt situation in the history of bunt situations!

So you agree that we need to move on? Cause you seem be the one leading this crusade

I'm not talking about in hindsight. You're the one talking about "maybe"s and "if"s. Take yourself away from the result was or what could have been. In that situation you bunt. Or put someone in who can.

I'm just arguing with Lester over a fundamental decision. One most seem to agree on except him. It's a harmless discussion. No crusade. Calm down college boy.

Deich is not faster than Laird. Especially not home to first.

very slim. Greg Deichman is faster than Mark Laird, just for some context

This is what you said

Why would I want to bring up hindsight when the worse thing that could possibly happened, happened?

Ive laid out the thought process, and a double player is the worst possible thing that could happen. I've already said what he hopes to have happened in that situation, and it has nothing to do with what happened. It's really not that hard to grasp.

It wasn't a letter. It was from his talk with the media. He meets with them every Monday.
