close LSUS and move them to Ruston.

I would support this, as long as it's still named Louisiana Tech.

You can still keep the HSC, similar to here in New Orleans.

Pretty good suggestions. Will be given a poor reception by the media and portions of the public unfortunately

Reducing the number of universities should have happened long ago... Politically don't know how this will ever happen.

These regional universities need to be reduced in their scope to focus on economically relevant needs. SUNO should just be shut down. They don't have an alumni base to fight it because they haven't graduated anyone.

It is a shame that LSU is being cut across the board at the same rate at SUNO, etc.

Realistically there should probably only be 4 publics in Louisiana. LSU, Tech, UL, SE

LSUS has a lot of non-traditional students who would hate traveling to Ruston just to get a degree. Close the shitty performing colleges first.

Why would you get rid of the only engineering college in New Orleans? Tulane only really does environmental and bioengineering and Loyola does neither.

Online classes can cover a lot of programs.

I've always thought Tech and LSUS should merge but I don't see a reason to close one of the campuses to do it. Have each campus be a concentrated curriculum. Like Math/Science/Engineering on one, liberal arts etc on the other. Crossover classes for the basics.

ULM really isn't that much smaller than Tech in terms of student enrollment. I'm more inclined to say move Tech to Shreveport and let the two schools share the Ruston facilities. That way the two major N.La cities each have their own university and there is a satellite campus in the middle.

so Tech's "satellite" campus would be larger and nicer than its "real" campus?

I would add UNO to that list. It has and serves a purpose.

Currently? Yes it would. However, you have to assume that moving it to Shreveport will allow them to build nicer facilities with the increased enrollment, and hopeful increase in support from the business industry.

we have already discussed this

just isn't the room to expand that campus to accommodate that size of a unversity

Then why not give them both? Offer limited courses at each, and give each college a central location. Ex: Tech's College of Business could be in Shreveport and it's College of Engineering could be in Ruston.

You have no idea how many kids make this commute to Ruston from Shreveport already do you?

I mean...isn't the point to try and save money?

I don't see how keeping both campuses is really that much different than the situation they have right now with LSU

Tech already has huge support from Shreveport community. You guys got to be kidding me putting your input into something you all nothing about obviously.
