Maybe Taurus is Rick Reilly. He's the only other person that is so obsessed with Tiger's ego.

Maybe my joy in seeing Tiger's demise is based on the facts of him and his parents comments, attitudes, and belief he would be the greatest person who walked the earth.

No athlete reached that kind of egomaniac level except Tiger. And it is based 100% on facts from their own comments I linked. They cannot be refuted.

Too many men have done some truly great things in this world. Tiger will never be one. Winning golf tournaments is not contributing to the improvements in society unless one is drinking the koolaid.

He's contributed far more to society (as an icon, charities, etc) than most of us have. Regardless just because you say that your historonic opinions are facts, doesn't make it so.

For a long time, I thought the people who made PED allegations against Tiger were just spiteful haters but now I'm not sure. How does one's body break down like this especially playing a sport like golf? It reminds me of all the juicers in baseball whose bodies turned to dust.

I agree with this. Also, after the whole Dustin Johnson fiasco that the PGA Tour tried to keep a lid on that got exposed, makes you wonder how many times Tiger may have possibly failed drug tests that potentially made him get to a point to quit. I'm not saying he has or hasn't, it's just a thought of reason for his body breaking down the way it has within the last few years. I personally hope PEDs aren't the reason for this, but what else could be causing someone who isn't 40 yet to have the issues he's having now?

Well, his swing had so much torque and so much twisting for so long that I think that it's entire plausible that his motion simply dusted his body.

I won't denounce the PEDs rumors offhand simply because he is following a career path not dissimilar to a lot of baseball PEDs users, but...

His advantage was always mental. He could intimidate the frick out of a field just by showing up for a decade and a half. He won a major on a damn broken leg for shite's sake.

He just doesn't have that anymore. Competitive golf at the highest levels is all mental.

With his decline and not being in the limelight much...I wonder how much longer Nike will keep paying him big money for his clothing line and big contract?

I agree, this decline is sad on so many levels. Regardless whether he was a douche or not, he played a game with which will be tough to witness ever again. Furthermore, his issues with infidelity were not the public's business; it was a family issue that got plastered all over the media. This was the beginning of the end...and the media is to blame for that!

With that said, I doubt he really cares anymore and his priorities have changed. He does not ever have to swing another club again, and he will live a life we can only imagine for the rest of his life.

Good, he's a great golfer but a phony human being.

Also, what did all the Tiger shaft-riders think anyway, that he was going to dominate into his 80's?

Steroids did him in. Plain and simple.

My favorite two stupid tiger things:

1) In the PGA about 2000 or so on one of the last holes he hit a ball into a clump of bushes with some fans hanging around. There was a two count before the ball miraculously popped back out on the fairway. It was obvious and the announcers didn't say a word.

2) the BS about not having his "A" game he said after one of those 12 or 15 stroke wins he had either in the Open or Masters - that was just stupid
