Its close. I'm sure a whole bunch of people in this thread will say no because they hate popular shows loved by the masses.

Then why do most of us like Breaking Bad?

Not close to BB but its better than MM. I agree with who ever said mad men was a bunch of dudes smoking. Last episode was awesome.

The Walking Dead is a definite favorite of mine, this past season was probably its best yet. It's entertaining as hell, but it's got way too many horror movie tropes to be the best show on TV. People do too many dumb things just to dumb things.

If you don't like Breaking Bad, I don't even understand why you watch TV in the first place.

I always picture a pretty wide personality divide between the biggest TWD fans and Mad Men fans.

I couldn't make it through season 1 of TWD. I watched BB twice and occasionally rewatch my favorite episodes. I've also watched every episode of MM.

I haven't been able to watch TWD since I read through the comics a couple of summers ago.

I absolutely LOVED Breaking Bad, but season 1 of the walking dead was better than season 1 of breaking bad. Overall BB was better, but it took a couple of seasons to hit its stride.

has it surpassed Breaking Bad as TD's best show on AMC or any other network?
Hell no! Not even close.

But it's a very enjoyable show IMO. That finale was great.

in this thread so far, we have had these shows listed as "overrated"

The Wire
The Walking Dead
Breaking Bad
Mad Men

did I miss any?

The Walking Dead is just ok. I have so many more shows that I prefer. To even put it in the same ballpark as Breaking Bad is laughable to me.

Maybe if they ditched a lot of the boring dialogue and manufactured character-developing sequences and hired some really good writers along with hiring Bryan Cranston then maybe it would be worthy of sniffing the farts of Breaking Bad.

Every time I'm ready to give walking dead the benefit of the doubt, the writers show their limitations like killing a character solely for shock effect (ie the end of season 5 part 1).

I'll have to say the Beth thing was about as asinine as it gets. Still scratching my head on that little gem.

Nah, I really like The Walking Dead a lot but its not as good as BB imo. It's not as good as GoT either, but again my opinion.
