That game made JJ look like Drew Brees.

Harris was Rick Clausen level bad against Auburn.

Jennings is on a another level of terrible honestly. He is pretty much JJ with no arm strength whatsoever, so that makes him much worse. JJ did have a good arm and could complete some passes in tight spots on occasion, but I don't see Jennings ever having that ability.

I would like to get involved in this thread, but I'm in offseason training mode. I'll save all the hours of work wasted for August when we really get into the meat of a QB controversy. You guys need to learn how to pace yourselves.

Yeah I like to use the offseason to discuss more important issues, like getting Mike back in the stadium.

AJ was awful at Auburn too...

Why does that fact not register here?

I would say that was just "very bad" to "awful". Not quite legendary level terrible.

No one is pulling for AJ to do poorly. I don't think anyone hates him as an actual person, most just realize he's probably not SEC starter material.

To answer your question, he showed no signs of progression through the season, if you can't see that, then you weren't watching the games.

Cant believe I got sucked into another dumbass QB thread.

So you're saying 8-4 or 7-5 ?

But at least we know why. Calling the wrong plays in the huddle. Simply not knowing what he was doing on the road against a, then, highly ranked SEC team.

AJ knew the playbook much better and still no marquee game against any team over the season. That's what concerns most fans.

No one knows what the potential is with AJ because there's not one game you can point to that showed any flash of potential including the cupcakes. But boy we all sure do hear about practice.

However, this doesn't mean he can't be better this season, but it does create the skepticism. More often than not, top QBs show that flash of promise in at least one game during the season where they are able to put it all together.

Let's visit this statement.

True freshmen starting in Jordan Hare for a huge game. That is a rowdy place. Pressure was already on.

Coaches set him up to fail. How many times did they run the ball before they even let him pass? Great way to kill any confidence he had. Let the guy throw some quick screens, etc. and get him comfortable. Coaches did a terrible job putting him in a place to succeed.

Not bashing at all but stating the facts. AJ doesn't have the moxie and can not improvise, BH is the opposite. I like to see BH get the same playing time as AJ in real games then we can compare.

Pretty sure I never said that.

You kids shouldn't let what is true interfere so much with what you want.

Hard to argue the fact that if he was better he'd have the lead.
But hey, don't let me he in y'all's way.

And fwiw I don't give a shite which starts.
That look same to me.

I don't agree. I think jefferson would have had LSU with two less losses in 2014.

and played just a little over half of the game. (hint: jennings completed just two more passes with no TD's or scoring drives after harris got injured)

maybe you should actually read/listen then:

LINK
quote:

Miles said neither quarterback has a leg up on the other, even though he acknowledged that Jennings “looked very sharp today.” He said both are already better than last season after 10 of 15 spring practices.

“(We’re looking) to find a real quality quarterback and they have separation from one to the other, that’s what I’m looking for,” he said. “Not necessarily seeing that.

“I think it’s the turn of the day,” he added. “Anthony Jennings probably has performed better on more days; and on other days, it’s been Brandon Harris.”
