I love Nola, lived there and will move back eventually. After living in Nashville, I would say NOLA offers no real outdoor activities(clearly they have a few, but they are severely lacking)

See, another dumb way to say it. No "real" ones? Who exactly decides what counts as a real outdoor activity?

Ha, the states are actually similar. Tons of fishing and hunting. There may be a few things northern Michigan has to offer, but same for the bayou the other way. NOLA > Detroit fo sho, but the state of Michigan is a little nicer IMO.

So do they get to enjoy all of their outdoor activies year round?

What's going on in Michigan that's better than what's going on in La right now?

Detroit > NOLA

After seeing some of the abandoned Detroit photos you might be right. Pretty soon that whole place is gonna be wilderness again. I wonder if you could buy one of the abandoned mansions and set it up as a camp. You could shoot deer from the 2nd story windows.

Why do you want to move back if you live in Nashville ? Nashville really is one of those nice places other places, like houston, try and claim.

BTW Salmon, don't you live in Shreveport?

I would agree, Michigan >> Sherevport.

But hey, you have that Red River going for you and Little Rock is only a few hours away.

Oh and I almost forgot, it snowed for a few hours last month. I bet that was exciting.

Great read. Was at Hogs this weekend. NOLA is running on all cylinders this time of year. It's pretty damn incredible.

So who here would have expected this to turn into a New Orleans v. Michigan thread? I certainly didn't see this one coming.

I dont want you saying watering your lawn is an outdoor activity. Fine, lets just end this thread:

NOLA is better than every city in the world at absolutely everything

Family. If I could move all my family to Nashville I would. I think it is overall better than NOLA. But I cant do that

I don't have to say stupid things like that to say there are real outdoor activities here.

I'm speculating here, but I would say probably skiing, ice skating, sledding, etc. Basically, snow stuff.

There's plenty of fishing and outdoors stuff on the north shore but in Nola proper, it's lacking
