Dude doesn't even frick around in the first episode, because that would have made him a more interesting character.

Jewish grandma is awesome (for PC purposes she's Greek, but let's be real: that's a Jewish grandma) and talks real shite.

Dude slapped a kid that's clearly mentally unstable. As a rule, slapping mentally unstable kids is bad. But this kid is clearly antisocial and violent.

The tl;dr version of this show is "Intelligent guy slaps Adam Lanza and stupid people cry for a while".

frick but this is a stupid show. You could have just called it " Reasonable Discipline" and ended it as a 20 minute how to video.

Granted, I disagree with spankings and hitting kids, but this is about an unusual case where some idiot child is swinging a bat at other children.

I could rant on and on about how completely useless and pathetic this show is for a couple of hours, and I'm 90 seconds into episode 2. I'm gonna finish it as rage porn, but frick me if I see a point to any of this.

Pretty hard. I say "Bravo!".

If they'd painted the child as innocent and sweet this could have been a decent miniseries on child abuse.

I made it 10 minutes in the first episode. It was easily the worst ten minutes of tv I've watched. The narrator was the biggest turd in a pile of turds.

The previews were terrible. Glad to know it's as bad as I knew it was going to be.

We're watching it.

Every person in this show deserves a slap.

Appropriate that Ken Olin directed a few episodes (and had a small cameo). This is ThirtySomething where every character has reason to hate the others.

Tell you what though... Zachary Quinto is an amazing actor.

As for the "slap".
Don't hit my kid, even if he deserves a smack. Especially if I'm right there (in which case you should tell me that I need to come over and smack my kid).
And that long haired kid with no discipline needs to be taken away from his hippie-dippie-breastfeed-till-he's-in-middle-school parents.

I read a reviews, and it sounds like a show I'd hate.

Every character is unlikable to the point of being a stereotype.
And it sounds like the unnecessary narration is unbearable.

We watched the first couple of episodes and finally abandoned it completely after the one featuring Uma Thurman. Between the mind numbing boredom of the plot and the incessant overacting of Thurman and Blythe Danner it was more than we were willing to endure again.

Each episode focuses on one of the characters. Thurman rarely appears now, Danner never showed up again.

I think the show was conceived to try and make the viewer hate every character. The only ones I like so far are the Greek grandpa, his wife and the hard arse attorney they hired. Everyone else needs a hard slap of their own. Especially the breast feeding mother of a five year old brat who has made the child what he is by coddling him his entire life. She is the biggest antagonist. Not the kid. Not the cheating, pussified uncle and hos enabling black wife. Not even Hugo's Starbucks artist father. That stupid bitch is the villain.
