They should be pissed at mike brey, not Jerian grant

Notre Dame uses a motion offense that relies on screens, quick ball reversal, and motion. During ND's last two meaningful possessions, I highly doubt Brey told Grant to dribble around for several seconds and launch off-balance threes... even if the clock was winding down.

(Of course, in the final six seconds, Grant had to do whatever was necessary to get a shot off.)

A few double teams on Towns would have helped.

bullshite foul

Should have been a charge

Defender was definitely moving.

Language of the rule has changed. As long as the defender has established position (which he clearly had) it is a charge.

LSU did the exact same thing against Kentucky.

Both had a very small lead against them by performing their offense. Then the last 3 minutes hit, and what do they do?

They hold the ball at mid-court for 25 seconds, then scramble to do something.

Final 3 minutes:

3-pter by Grant (made at shot clock buzzer)
Jumper by Grant (missed with less than 5 left on shot clock)
3-pter by Grant (missed/blocked with 3 left on shot clock)
3-pter by Grant (missed at buzzer)

Teams suddenly think that a 2-3 point lead with a few minutes left in the game is a safe lead, and they just bleed clock. They had zero good possessions, and made one lucky shot.

ALL of this.

Notre Dame played horribly in the last 2-3 minutes and lose by 2 points that UK scored with 6 seconds left.

I don't understand why teams do this. They stopped playing their offense completely.

If you're still shuffling your feet position hasn't been established. I only needed the original replay to see that. No one thinks it was a charge.

No, I think he became anxious and wanted to put away Kentucky with jumpers. It happens.

I didn't see much motion from the rest of the players on those possessions. Looked pretty much like an iso/clear out call

You know, that might actually be the case. I'd have to go back and look though. If so, I'll admit I'm completely wrong.

They played basically a flawless offensive game.

except for the fact that they shot well below their season average from the 3pt line.
