[quote]Should have been a ground rule double and this is why....the fence is an imaginary line going straight up...the ball went under the fence penetrating that imagimary line.....ground rule double....its not about if the fielder couldnt grab the ball or not...its about if the ball was in the field of play or not.... I love lsu but the umpires screwed kentucky on that reverse...

Not right... Box rules say this is a ball in play. The rules are gone over before each game played with the opposing team.

This happened a year or tow ago.

If you look within the ncca baseball rule book on waht constitutes legal field of play and when a ball becomes dead...you would then know that playing by textbook , the ball was dead....:)

Provide the link to the rules and quote the exact rule. The burden of proof is on you since the opposing proof (which we all saw tonight) are the printed Alex Box Stadium rules which made this an in the park home run.

i only followed the game thread. if the ball went under the fence i assume they shouldn't have a hole under their fence for balls to go through.

If it wedged under the pads then thats just part of the game.

still... frick em.

BTW I've been posting in game threads since 2008 and will probably continue to do so. I may make more mistakes, but I will not pretend to know shite that I dont know.
