This is my first time playing fantasy baseball, so my draft strategy was just to take the best available player and go from there. Our format is head-to-head.

C - Devin Mesoraco
1B - Paul Goldschmidt
2B - Anthony Rendon
3B - Josh Donaldson
SS - Xander Bogaerts
2B/SS - Neil Walker
1B/3B - Albert Pujols
OF - Carlos Gomez
OF - Justin Upton
OF - Matt Holiday
OF - Charlie Blackmon
OF - J.D. Martinez
Util - Nolan Arenado

P - Jordan Zimmerman
P - David Robertson
P - Alex Cobb
P - Alex Wood
P - Dellin Betances
P - Anibal Sanchez
P - Ryu Hyun-Jin
P - Steve Cishek
P - Dallas Keuchel
P - Phil Hughes
P - Drew Smyly

Pitching is going to be a problem, but wins-losses don't count in our league. Also, we'll be incredibly slow on the basepaths (1P per SB).

Thoughts?

Your scoring settings are going to give me a headache, but this is a points league?

You need to post them.

Yeh definitely need the scoring settings since it's not ESPN standard

frick.

My advice: enjoy the year, read the board, specifically all the league threads throughout the season. Listen to as many podcasts as you can and read as much as you can.

Next year, join a real league or something on this board. Hell, I suggest joining Votto Is A Catcher league this season. League Link

Fantasy baseball is too much fun to spend it wasting your time in a league with scoring settings like that.

For a points league, these scoring settings are altered drastically.

What you want to focus on is efficiency.

Guys who log big innings, guys who don't strike out, guys who don't get caught stealing.

That, and joining Votto Catcher, would be my advice.

we all know each other, and it's not easy to find guys out here to make a league together. I can suggest changes though, and could convince the others to push the commish. What would you change those categories to?
