Dumb move. All-time winningest Texas coach in history at 402-180 and 16 tournament appearances in 17 years and a final four in 2003. He made the tournament this year so what more do you want? Just because he doesn't have a run like Izzo you fire your coach?

they have the Mike Smith of college basketball. Congratulations.

Texas will not get a big time coach, the best they can hope for is Scott Drew

He made the tournament this year. Only 68 out of 300 schools make it. I'd say he did a good job this year and in his career and let's face it, Texas is not a basketball school and they don't appear to wish to devote the resources to basketball. Schools like Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Florida are the few schools who decide to have winning programs in both and have devoted resources to both and have fan bases who like success in both. Places like Texas and Alabama will never have a fan base and boosters who want winning basketball like football. Barnes did a good job considering the limitations he has.
