I swear to God this place is insufferable! I can't wait until the Fall, we will wreck shop, and everyone is gonna have to just STFU.

What if Jennings is the better QB?

Then we failed spectacularly in recruiting. I mean, SPECTACULARLY.

What if Jennings runs things better?

What if Jennings leads LSU to victory after victory?

He won't.

What will the Harris fan boys do?

Hell. I'm no Harris fanboy. I've been watching Miles long enough to know that it is damned straight possible that he DID fail spectacularly in QB recruiting. I'm just hoping Harris is as good as was claimed when we chased him.

IMO, talent mismanagement has been has been a hallmark of Les Miles' tenure at LSU.

Yeap, I mean why run the ball when LA produces rb after rb and no qbs. Sure sucks that Beckham and Landry didn't make it to the NFL because they never caught a pass. I feel bad for Lael Collins, we threw the ball so much when his strength was run blocking.

Oh wait....

Then how did Jennings start over Rivers and how did JJ start over Lee?

You've got a point. And I think it shows how spectacularly bad Rivers was, and how terrified Miles was when Lee had the ball in his hands. Man, we've had some horrendous quarterbacks come through Baton Rouge!

Setting a goal of completing 70 percent of the team’s passes,
If Vegas would let you lay a bet on that happening and it DID happen with AJ as QB, you'd fricking retire on a $200 bet.

I already know they’re better than they were last year,” he said. "To find a real quality quarterback and to have separation from one to the other, that’s what I’m looking for. I’m not necessarily seeing that.”

OK. Let's just assume that for the sake of argument, this is absolute Gospel. No real separation between the two.

Mmkay. Anyone wanna take bets on how fricking bad AJ will have to play to find the bench? This is the strange part to me. If your starter is bad and you're telling us that in practice, you don't see much separation, then WTF over? Give the other guy a shot. And hey, the SAME shot you give the fricker who stank for 13 games!!!

I'm willing to go on record as saying that Harris will come into the opener within the first four possessions to lead the offense.

Let's actually post the quote in context and what not...

quote:Setting a goal of completing 70 percent of the team’s passes, Miles noted that while Jennings has had the edge on more days, he’s not seeing enough separation between the two for his liking. "I already know they’re better than they were last year,” he said. "To find a real quality quarterback and to have separation from one to the other, that’s what I’m looking for. I’m not necessarily seeing that.”

And there it is.

This is why this board is the worst thing to ever happen to LSU Sports.

Page after page of ignorant haters and fans of opposing teams posing as LSU fans bashing Miles and Jennings over something HE NEVER EVEN REALLY SAID.

The internet ladies and gentlemen. Giving morons a place to feel important and special for over a decade!!

In fairness to the OP, its the douchebag who sent out the tweet who deserves to burn.

That said, he needs to update with the entire context.

It is not supposed to take more than a full year to have your first remotely decent game! Anthony Jennings is a good kid who works hard and has NO SEC or even division 1 quarterbacking skills to speak of. For those of you certain that things will get better just because he's played more than the other guy...what evidence have you seen?? And don't give me "every quarterback has improved under Les by year 3." We've seen it happen at least once by that point! Just something, the smallest shred of hope--even Jarrett Lee had one or 2 good games his freshman year where he showed what he can do. We still don't know WHAT Jennings can do because we haven't seen him do ANYTHING good! I hope I'm wrong and that he has magically corrected everything he was so bad at all year, but until then I have no problem admitting I don't believe it will happen. Bring on 2017.

I totally buy that Jennings has gone from displaying the passing skills of a JV QB that struggled to even get 100 yds passing a game, has suddenly become an 80+ completion %, multi TD throwing QB machine

This is of NO surprise.. The main difference between Miles and Saban is that Nick utilizes the talent he recruits, while Les sits his on the bench. Les will have another season, playing second fiddle to Nick. Get ready for another Capitol One Bowl...

Saban started Marcus Randall over Jamarcus Russell.

..and in the C1 bowl, we were getting our asses kicked until Russell was inserted over Randall.

If Miles is happy with a guy completing 48% of his passes for 90 ypg, then we will be getting a new coach soon or Harris is truly horrible.

Quite possibly the best one sentence analysis in the history of The Rant.

Actually he put in Flynn first, who looked even worse than Randall, THEN put in Russell.
