Steve Deberg and the Bucs were 6 point favorites over the Bears in the early nineties and the were trying to run the clock out around midfield, up by two or three. He runs a bootleg and there is no defensive player within twenty yards of him . He runs down the sideline all alone and takes a knee at the two. Cost me a big parlay and a couple of grand, I quit betting on sports right then and there

They end up going to OT and I get off work and go straight to the Mirage, when I get there Oregon's up 77-70 with the ball and like a minute left. They make FTs to go up 9, Washington hits a 3, more FTs, blah blah. So Oregon's up 5 shooting 2 FTs with 2 seconds left, I'm already figuring out how to get a trailer hitch on my car. Misses 1st FT, makes the second. Oregon basically walks off the court at this point and Washington inbounds the ball, guy catches it, takes a dribble then throws up a half court shot that he swishes.

That's fricked up.

A guy I worked with thought he won $500 in a Super Bowl pool (Bucs-Raiders)...until the pick-six at the very end.

I guess this is a little different, but I lost a fantasy football championship, semifinals, which would've been $1000. I was playing against Baltimore D, and the packers brought in Aaron Rodgers in garbage time when they were getting blown out, and he threw a pick 6 with less than a minute to go costing me that game, in which I would've won the next week

I saw elsewhere that the after-the-fact free throw caused a $20 million swing in Vegas.

Absolutely crazy.

I lost a FF title once thanks to a Yahoo technical glitch in week 2. Their site was literally broken all week and I couldn't change my lineup. Cost me a few points in a close game.

I missed the playoffs on a tiebreaker. Then had the highest score in the league during the consolation rounds -- which means I would have beaten the actual winners in the semis and finals

This is the worst beat in college football history and I happened to be on the wrong side of it. Western Kentucky was -3 in the 2014 Bahamas Bowl. Up 49-14 at the start of the 4th quarter and wound up losing on an 80 yard hail mary with no time on the clock

Took a $500 L
