My wife and I have been sleeping in separate beds/rooms for roughly 2 months now. I cant sleep on her bed, it is way too soft for my back and bad shoulder. Plus my side has a massive lean/dent. She cant sleep on our other beds , they are too firm for her because of her scoliosis.

We have a deal on hold at mattress firm for 2 twin beds to put together to make one king. Both are hybrids between memory foam and spring. One is a Beauty Rest Clairmont we negotiated down to $2000 from $2550. The other is a Sealy Posturepedic Trust we got down to $765 from $1200. Out the door w/"foundation" and taxes it is a shade over $3200. 10 year warranty, 100 day comfort guarantee..etc, all the normal stuff. We told the saleswoman a number, and she matched it, then we found a better price on the Sealy and she beat it.

Is this a good deal? Also, it would be 0% for 4 years through Wells Fargo. We dont have the cash to spend because of a little one on the way. Trying to keep the nest egg intact, and the payment isnt a huge deal.

Thanks guys.

You're married and not sleeping in the same room as your wife? I'd spend whatever it takes assuming you enjoy having relations with your wife.

She is pregnant, sex is hit and miss anyway. We have had more relations in the past 3 weeks than the previous 2 months by a ratio of around.....10 to 1.

Purchase wise, we are just trying to be cautious with our first kid on the way.

If you like a fairly firm mattress and want memory foam

Tuft and Needle

Price can't be beat. Plus the thirty day trial, they usually just have you donate it if you don't like it. Most people complain about firmness

At 0%? Yeah, if you want to get technical, its the same as cash. Unless you are an idiot and miss a payment. I'd rather do that than break the piggy bank before the kid gets here.

those prices seem high for those brands- those are not top brands but more middle line

Agreed. For that price you can get a sleep number.

Don't really want a sleep number. I am a bigger guy and I tend to flop. Even though I'm losing weight I don't trust it to hold up to several years of abuse from me. Plus I have heard a lot of horror stories.

We looked at Tempurpedic, but neither one of us could find one we liked.

It is difficult to resist goofing on you.

Good luck with your impending fatherhood, when the dreaded Mrs. Füt was pregnant, I absolutely positively feasted on the sex. I couldn't imagine sleeping in another room and missing that poonderfull Festivalé de Sexo.

I cannot recommend anyone to finance a mattress even at zero percent interest rate.

Seems like you have bigger issues than finding a mattress. You might want to look deeper into things.

Just trying to help

I knew that it would happen when I started the thread.

She is finally getting over being nauseous 24/7. So that train is starting to roll. Which is another reason this needs to happen.

I cannot really recommend it to myself, but I literally cant sleep on our current bed without having to take several percocet in the morning just to move. Then at night to go to sleep. The pain difference since I started sleeping on our firmer guest bed is like night and day. I've been off pain pills for 1.5 months and I plan on staying that way. Would rather finance the bed to return to our normal sleeping arrangement, than restart taking them.

Memory foam/hybrids are terrible if you like firm support. They also hold heat, so if you're a sweaty sleeper, it's the wrong bed for you.

I am a hot natured sleeper, and I own a Memory Foam (iComfort from Serta). You're misinformed about the heat. They've stepped their game up. Quite comfortable these days.

Check out bed in a box. Higher rated than tempurpedic and costs about 30% less. I got one 6 months ago and love it.

Restonic, Stearns and Foster, Duxiana Go to a good furniture store that carries better brands- avoid mattress stores

Avoid memory foam and air

Buy a real mattress, lay on them in the store,

I bought an expensive one almost 15 years ago after back issues, best decision ever, never looked back and it is as good today as the day I bought it

I paid big bucks for a memory foam....dumped it after 2 years due to endless back pain and a too warm bed. Next bought a firm non pillow top
Stearns and Foster. Pain went from constant to rare. No more overheating.

check out the dreamfoam. if you get a king size I believe you can get the inserts split from the factory, which means you and your wife can adjust the different foams to match your preference. Ive been having one for a few years and its still going strong, and hasnt sunk in at all.
