Hotel we stayed at is The Belvedere. Good rates. 2 blocks west of Times Square. Walk from hotel another 2 blocks and you have tons of restaurants, empanadas mama was killer. Restaurant Row right there also. Very close to theater district. Very pleased with prices and location. Good Italian place next door for pizza. Dunkin donuts 2 blocks away also

JetBlue has a direct from MSY to JFK that's usually in the $250 range.

I'm not the best about hotels, as I stay in Hilton properties for the points. Don't stay in the Financial District or Times Square. It seems that I always end up in the East Village or Chelsea or somewhere thereabouts.

I don't think there's a 7 day MTA pass anymore, but I could be misrembering that.

We went in the first week of June last year and it was great. Just as warm as it was over Christmas in 2013.

i've been in mid/late june. temps ranged from highs in the 60s to 80s and decent at night. going in late august this year. will be hot as balls im sure but it's not like im from fricking antarctica.
