If I did, I would have put it in my "honors and activities" section as a one-liner bullet point.

It would be fine if he just listed his accomplishments in soccer in one bullet and limited it to collegiate and semi-professional experience.
i.e.
- Starting Goal Keeper for Division II soccer program 2002-2004 (or whatever); selected to Team USA Under 18 team as Goal Keeper
- Starting Place Kicker for Mobile Bay Tarpons, professional arena league football

Depends. I think its a good thing. I was recently involved with helping place a fellow Auburn graduate who was an NCAA national Champion diver. I think that is worth putting on a resume for sure.
