Wtf is the deal with Houston bums?

I went to a concert Wednesday night in midtown, but stayed downtown. There are bums damn dear everywhere. They aren't the bums like I'm used to in New Orleans who generally leave me alone. Every single one of them walked straight up and asked for money. Then, they get all pissy when I say, "No, I'm not giving you any money".
Yall need to do a clean sweep or something. It was fricking annoying and yall are loaded with them. I barely saw and regular people downtown.

There is an underpass camp very close to downtown, under the pierce elevated.

Houstons bums are disgusting. They live in a city with plenty jobs. The normal people downtown are in the tunnels

I get that social media makes bums look like these victims of society and that they are people too.
I get all that and I'm not gonna loop all of them into this but from what I have seen some make them all look bad.
They can be like stray dogs.
If you give them any little bit of anything they will keep asking for more and trying to take something else.
I'm all for trying to help someone out but atleast a dozen time I have had a homeless guy get mad that I wouldn't actually give them money instead of offering to buy them food. I would say I will buy you lunch if you wanna walk in the restaurant and they would say they just want money.

Naw, I figured they were all stethoscope chasers, and I went with this chick I knew from New Orleans that I'd known for all of an hour 
I did enjoy Pub Fiction though. Nice place, smoking hot women, good small music venue, decent drink prices, expensive shots.
Eta: I don't ever give bums money and it could be argued that I'm honest enough to be called an a-hole. I don't beat around the bush and pretend I don't have money or something, but don't get mad when I tell you I'm not giving you any of my money and that I don't want to talk to you. That was the major difference I noticed between yall's bums and our bums

if you're out in midtown and it takes more than 5 minutes for the valet to get your car, there is a 100% chance you will be harassed by a bum.

Had one a few weeks back at Yale and 610 get all pissy cause I wouldnt give him anything. Threw his hands up, rolled his eyes and Just couldn't believe I wouldnt spare some change. Entitled pieces of shite.

I did think it was funny that a pub had valet parking and a VIP area.
I got the free hotel shuttle down there, hung out with the band when the bar closed, and called a taxi from the tour bus. Mother frickers were knocking on the tour bus door asking for stuff

It's not really a pub. Pub Fiction is a night club / lounge. The name is a play on Pulp Fiction, the movie.
